Strawberries

Strawberries are bright red, aromatic fruits with a sweet-tart flavor and soft, juicy texture. Unlike many fruits, the seeds appear on the outside of the flesh, making strawberries distinctive in appearance as well as flavor.

Strawberries are among the first fruits of the Northeast growing season. Different varieties and growing systems can extend availability into summer, but locally grown strawberries are generally most abundant in early summer.
