Providence Acres Farm is a 67-acre Certified Naturally Grown family farm established in 2000 in Friedens (Shanksville), PA, run by the Kelly family Ray, Kathy, Yvonne, and Chris. The farm is completely free of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides. All poultry, sheep, goats, pigs, and cattle are pasture-raised and fed with organic grains and hay, with no hormones or antibiotics used in any of their products. The farm offers lamb, pork, chevon (goat), beef, chicken, turkey, duck, eggs, and a wide variety of seasonal vegetables and fruits. Fresh produce and fruit are available June through October, while meat, poultry, and eggs are available year-round. Consumers can purchase directly through an on-farm CSA program (CSA members also receive discounts on meat and value-added products), at the Somerset County Farmers' Market, or directly off the farm Monday through Saturday. Wholesale supply to local stores and restaurants is also available, as well as delivery for larger orders.
