Flatbrook Farm is a family-operated livestock farm located at 2 DeGroat Road in Sandyston Township, New Jersey, near Montague. Surrounded by rolling pastures, hay meadows, and woodlands, the farm specializes in raising animals using sustainable, pasture-based agricultural practices. The farm produces grass-fed beef from cattle raised on rotationally managed pastures, along with pork from pigs allowed to forage in wooded areas. It also raises chickens and turkeys outdoors, providing fresh, locally raised poultry and seasonal Thanksgiving birds. Its laying hens produce pasture-raised eggs during much of the year. Flatbrook Farm focuses on humane livestock management, feeding animals non-GMO feed and avoiding antibiotics and growth hormones. Customers can purchase individual meat products when available, reserve bulk beef and pork shares, and order seasonal poultry and eggs. The farm operates a seasonal on-site store and accepts online and telephone orders, with weekday collection available by appointment. Its historical Community Supported Agriculture program also offered naturally grown vegetables through weekly seasonal shares, although current vegetable CSA enrollment should be confirmed. Flatbrook Farm provides an opportunity for northern New Jersey households to purchase locally raised meats directly from the producer while supporting pasture-based agriculture and responsible land stewardship.
