North Star Orchard LLC is a 20-acre orchard and vegetable farm in Cochranville, PA, owned and operated by Lisa Ruch and Ike Kerschner, who started the farm in 1992. The orchard is passionate about growing unique, heritage, and hard-to-find fruit varieties — their apple collection alone includes over 350 different varieties, ranging from antique heritage types to newly developed ones. They also grow dozens of varieties of peaches, plums, Asian pears, European pears, seedless grapes, and a selection of vegetables. Fresh-pressed cider becomes available in September. The on-farm store is open seasonally from June through Thanksgiving, Thursday through Sunday, 10AM to 5PM, and features local artisan goods alongside farm produce. CSA Fruit Share memberships are available with pickup locations throughout Southeastern PA and Delaware.
