Rambling Roots Farm is a first-generation family farm owned and operated by Phil and Shanna Smeltz in Cochranville, Southern Chester County, PA. Phil has been working in organic farming since 2009, and the farm is supported by a small, dedicated seasonal crew. The farm grows vegetables and herbs using organic and sustainable methods, with all produce sown, transplanted, harvested, washed, and bunched entirely by hand. Weeding is done manually to minimize soil disruption. The focus is on high-quality, fresh produce typically harvested within 48 hours of reaching the customer. CSA shares are available on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, with pickup options in Cochranville, New London, and Philadelphia. The farm can also be found every Saturday at the Rittenhouse Square Farmers Market in Philadelphia during spring, summer, and fall.
