Broadwater Farm is a family-owned pastured livestock farm nestled on 150 acres of rolling pastures and woodlands in northern Chester County, just south of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Established in 1990 and operated by the Andersen family, the farm raises 100% grass-fed Black Angus beef and Dorset lamb, along with a flock of pasture-raised laying hens for fresh eggs. The farm takes a natural, chemical-free approach to animal husbandry — no pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers are used on the pastures, and animals are never given growth hormones or antibiotics. Cattle live their entire lives on the farm's lush fields along Charlestown Road, roaming freely in open pastures rather than confined feedlots. Beef is available through a Beef Club membership in 1/4 or 1/8 cow shares, with seasonal pickups at the neighboring Charlestown Farm CSA barn. Broadwater Farm is closely affiliated with Charlestown Farm, a 40-acre community-supported organic vegetable farm it manages across the street, making it a true farm-to-table destination for Chester County families seeking locally and responsibly raised meat and eggs.
